P. T. M. Government College, Perinthalmanna was established in July 1975 with two batches of Pre degree, as a resonance to the pressing demand of the public for an institution providing university education to the younger generation of Perinthalmanna and its Suburbs. The college was upgraded as Degree College from the academic year 1991-92 and PG Course started during 2001-02. At present the college offers six under graduate courses and five post graduate courses among which two have upgraded as Research Departments. The College is affiliated to the University of Calicut and has been included under Sections 2(f) & 12(B) of UGC act since 2007.
