Sri. C. Achutha Menon Government College, Thrissur, is an institution of higher education under the Collegiate Education Department, Govt. of Kerala.  Named after one of the eminent chief ministers of Kerala, the institution, drawing its inspiration from the values and visions enshrined in the Constitution of India, aims at moulding the young seekers of the knowledge as responsible citizens of a secular and democratic country duly conscious of their rights and duties, apart from providing a proper direction for their intellectual and aesthetic pursuits. The college started functioning on 14 August 1972 in the premises of the present Institute of Advanced Study in Education (IASE), Palace Road, Thrissur, then known as The Government Training College, Thrissur.
